Debbie vanGrieken and her husband Harry have raised their family of 5 sons on the shores of Lake Erie and are active members of their community. Debbie spent 17 years as a Literacy coordinator and Librarian before turning her passion for Fair Trade into a Social Enterprise. A major turning point in Debbie’s life was a Melanoma diagnosis 4 years ago. After making a conscious decision to only use natural organic skin care products Debbie found her actions and passions collided and an amazing opportunity opened up to her to import Raw Shea Butter from Northern Uganda. Wanting to end suffering for both her customers and her producers and educate others about natural solutions Debbie found her company’s mission and launched Moyaa in March of 2016.

Moyaa Shea Products Ltd. Is committed to producing the highest quality of premium Organic, Grade A Shea Butter in order to help people dealing with skin issues from simple dryness to painful eczema and skin irritations. Using the framework of Fair Trade and introducing a zero waste program Moyaa strives to transform the lives of people in Uganda by ending the cycle of dependency and bringing dignity to the farmers and their families. Moyaa also sponsors girls education through their social impact program and is currently supporting two young girls through a charitable organization called Starfish. Thinking Global and acting Locally is important to Moyaa so they assist and donate to local service clubs and sponsor events like MomCare and DREAM”s Global Literacy Program.
